End of April Bali Government Tourism Office Checks Foreign Tourist Levy at Tourist Destinations.

Denpasar, according to Bali Regional Regulation Number 6 of 2023 concerning Levy for Foreign Tourists for the Protection of Bali’s Culture and Natural Environment, that checking of tourists who have paid and who have not paid is carried out through the entrances to Bali, at places of accommodation and at tourist destinations.

In March 2024, the first check was carried out at the Uluwatu tourist destination in Badung Regency on March 26, 2024. For April the check will be carried out at the end of the month. The targeted tourist destinations are Goa Gajah in Gianyar Regency, Tirta Empul in Gianyar Regency, Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, Tabanan Regency, and Penglipuran Village.

This was announced by the head of the Bali Government Tourism Office, Tjok Bagus Pemayun at the Bali Government Tourism Office Monday, April 22, 2024.

“We make the place the target because there are relatively many tourists visiting these tourist destinations, and also want to check how many tourists have paid, and how many have not” he said.
“For tourists who are found not to have paid, they will be asked to pay on the spot through the existing application, named lovebali.baliprov.go.id. So there is no payment made in cash, all through online” he said. “So there is no payment made in cash, all through online” He emphasized.

In order not to feel disturbed by the officer’s check, Tjok Bagus appealed to all tourists who have not paid the “Foreign Tourist Levy” to immediately make payments before arriving in Bali because checks will be carried out at the airport, at the hotel and also at tourist destinations. This is all for the convenience of their vacation in Bali, he added.

Tjok Bagus also appealed to travel agents to inform all their clients that the Bali Provincial Government has a new policy like this, so that they are not surprised and can make payments before leaving for Bali. Tourism guides and drivers are also reminded to always inform the guests they are handling about this policy.
